About the Role

Nursery Manager – £45k - £50k Package

We are delighted to be partnering with a highly respected independent forest school nursery known for its nurturing ethos and play-based approach to learning, to recruit an experienced and passionate Nursery Manager.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated early years professional who thrives on creating inspiring environments for children and leading teams who share a love for learning through play. The nursery has built a glowing reputation within the local community for its warmth, creativity, and commitment to giving every child the very best start in life.

  • Be part of a close-knit, independent setting where your ideas, experience, and leadership truly make an impact.
  • Work within a caring and collaborative culture that values wellbeing, creativity, and genuine relationships.
  • Lead a dedicated, long-standing team that prides itself on delivering high-quality early years education.
  • Enjoy autonomy and support in equal measure — with opportunities to grow, innovate, and shape the nursery’s future.

What will you be doing?

As Nursery Manager, you’ll be the heart of the nursery — inspiring your team, supporting families, and ensuring every child feels valued and encouraged to flourish.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Educational Leadership – Champion a play-based curriculum that fosters curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
  • Team Development – Lead, motivate, and mentor staff to deliver exceptional care and uphold the nursery’s warm, inclusive ethos.
  • Operational Excellence – Manage day-to-day operations, including staffing, compliance, and health & safety, ensuring a smooth and happy environment for children and families.
  • Parent Partnerships – Build strong, trusting relationships with parents, offering clear communication and celebrating children’s progress.
  • Quality & Growth – Maintain high standards across all areas, promoting continuous improvement and supporting steady, sustainable growth.
  • Safeguarding & Compliance – Ensure that all policies and procedures meet Ofsted and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements.

Who are we looking for?

We’re seeking a confident, compassionate, and experienced leader with a genuine passion for early childhood education.

Essential qualifications and experience include:

  • Proven leadership experience in a nursery or early years setting
  • A recognised Level 3 qualification or higher in Early Years Education
  • Strong understanding of child development, safeguarding, and EYFS frameworks
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and people management skills
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to inspire, guide, and develop others
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and inspection readiness

What’s in it for you?

  • Competitive Salary – Up to £50k package
  • Professional Development – Ongoing learning, training, and leadership support
  • Supportive Environment – A caring, community-focused team that celebrates creativity and individuality
  • Wellbeing Focus – A positive workplace culture built on respect, balance, and connection
  • Career Opportunity – The chance to shape and grow an established, independent nursery with an excellent local reputation

If you’re an inspirational Nursery Manager who leads with warmth, integrity, and vision — and you’re ready to make a genuine difference in a nurturing, independent setting — we’d love to hear from you.
